Preventing Order Editor from automatically issuing a refund

You can tell Cleverific Order Editor not to process any refunds by using the Do not issue a refund override when editing an order.

Normally, Order Editor will automatically issue a refund after editing an order if one is due (i.e., the grand total of the edited order is less than the grand total of the original order). However, merchants may not want to issue a refund for various reasons, such as:

  • Refunding via store credit or a gift card
  • Refunding via cash or check
  • Combining orders
  • Splitting orders for split shipments


  1. Open your order in Order Editor
  2. Perform your edits
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to find the Settings heading and click Edit.
  4. Check the box for Do not issue a refund.

When you save your edits, Order Editor will not issue a refund to the customer even if one is due.
