Allowing Order Editor to send email notifications for your store

By default, Cleverific Order Editor sends custom email notifications such as order confirmations and payment requests using our no-reply email address (no-reply@editorder.net) and sets the reply-to email address to your Shopify account's customer contact email.

In your customer's inbox, this experience is seamless and looks like the following:

This is the default behaviour for Order Editor so that we are able to maximize email deliverability without requiring you to perform any additional, complicated technical setup.

Some merchants, however, may prefer to use a custom sender address to ensure that their customer experience is branded from end to end. You can set up a customer address by following the guide below.

Set up your custom sender address

If you have a custom domain for your Shopify store and have set up enhanced email security for your domain, you may need to authorize Order Editor to send emails for your store in order for customers to receive your payment requests. Without this authorization, email services may prevent customers from receiving payment requests or may send your payment request emails to spam.

Order Editor, like Shopify, uses the Sender Policy Framework (SPF) to verify your sender email address for the automatic notification emails that your customers receive. This prevents notification emails from being flagged as spam.

Update your SPF record

In most cases, you may already have a SPF record for your custom domain to allow Shopify to send notification emails on your behalf which should look like the following:

v=spf1 include:shops.shopify.com ~all

In order to authorize, Order Editor, you'll need to add our email provider's unique string to your existing record: include:u1946242.wl243.sendgrid.net

When your SPF record has been updated successfully, it should look like the following. Please note that it can take up to 72 hours for your DNS records to propagate before the SPF record begins to appear.

v=spf1 include:shops.shopify.com include:u1946242.wl243.sendgrid.net ~all

Once you have your SPF record updated, please reach out to our support team to so we can verify your domain name and complete your setup.
