How Edit Order works
Shopify’s native editing feature provides some editing options, like adding and removing items, but you might need more advanced features. Whether you’re looking to edit a custom order, streamline your order fulfillment, manage your wholesale orders, or just speed up your order processing, Edit Order has what you need, all in one place.
To provide the best order editing possible, Edit Order works using two editing modes:
- Advanced Mode is where you can make edits that just can’t be made in Shopify. Using a “save-as” edit, you can edit orders older than 180 days or edit a product’s variant and more.
See full list of Advanced Mode edits and features.
- In Quick Mode, your edits are all saved directly on your order. Once you’ve completed and saved your edits, they will all appear on the original order. You also have access to powerful eCommerce tools like Payment Request Templates and Product Shortcuts.

How to switch between modes
Accessing Advanced Mode or Quick Mode is easy, you just need to switch the toggle at the top right corner.
